Main Genre: Romance, Supernatural

I finally watched it! It was definitely much different from what I expected and definitely overhyped but still was a pretty solid show.

Review:

Do Do-Hee is probably one of the mentally strongest main characters I’ve watched. Her aura itself was so cool, but as a person, she has been through tons of hardships and continued to be tested and hurt but she pushed through till the very end. Though, when she lets go of her role and responsibilities around Jeong Gu-Won, she’s so cute and open. She acted like she was okay and was really put together in front of other people, but different events showed that she still felt the guilt and grief of all she’s lost. Kim You-Jung’s acting was so amazing throughout the show, she really portrayed the emotions well and really set the tone/attitude of the scenes.

Jeong Gu-Won was an amazing guy, but a horrible demon. Don’t get me wrong, he’s amazing…but that’s the problem! I expected a moody, heartless demon who felt joy in people’s pain. He was mean and a little intimidating but usually was very nonchalant and carefree. I wanted more deception and traitory because that’s what I expected from a demon, or at least something that showed cruelty and ruthlessness. There were like two times in the show where he actually appeared like a demon. I get that he lost his demon powers for a while but even before he lost his powers, and when he got it back, he was just so…normal? This show should’ve been called “My Guardian Angel” at this point, he was literally a human’s bodyguard 😅.

Besides that fact, he cared about Do Do-Hee a lot. They made such a power couple! I loved their dynamic and chemistry, they both appeared intimidating but much more soft around each other. Jeong Gu-Won’s past life was such a good touch to the show, it explained so much and added depth to the show. I also loved the kind of enemies-to-lovers vibe that was going on along with forced proximity.

I skipped forward a lot of parts, if I’m being honest. At some parts, there really wasn’t a plot as much as it was just letting Do Do-Hee and Jeong Gu-Won being in love and cute, especially in the second half of the show. Though, people more invested in these two would probably enjoy those parts, but I was more interested in seeing what happens next.

Other than those parts, the mystery was nicely played out, it ended a bit quick in my opinion, but the way it unraveled was crazy! It felt like its own drama, but after that other revelations were still shocking and interesting.

I also definitely liked the first half much better than the second half. During the second half, a lot of the time I was just looking forward to the drama I was thinking about watching after this one. Though, the first half I was really invested in.

I also wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending. Like, it makes sense why it happened but it just felt cliche and I at least wished the reason why it happened wasn’t so anticlimactic. I wish there was more to it, but it was wholesome so I guess that could be appreciated.

I loved the way the different relationships between the main characters and side characters developed. They started as enemies but turned into friends, it was adorable!
