Kdrama Review: Single’s Inferno
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Main Genre: Reality Show, Romance
My first korean reality show! I’ve been hearing a lot about this one in particular and ever since I started the first episode, I’ve been binge watching it. I really didn’t know what to expect as I haven’t had much experience with how reality shows work, I expected tons of drama and fights. That…did not happen. Also, I thought long and hard about how to review a reality show because I couldn’t figure out how to write a completely spoiler free review. Like I can’t really talk about each of the characters and their relationships without it ruining the experience of watching it firsthand.
Thus, this is a SEMI-SPOILER reviewer. The first half is for those who want to decide whether they want to watch it or not, the second half is for those who just want to see more of my opinion.

Synopsis:
A bunch of single people are stranded on an island with not the most comfortable living conditions. The only way they can go to “Paradise”, which is a very luxurious hotel, is if they go together as a couple.
Review:
I found the concept of having a bunch of people stranded on an island really fun and interesting. Though, everything was quite civilized and everyone was pretty mature for the most part. I thought people would be arguing and fighting over the same few people, though none of that outright anger happened. Everyone was quite competitive, for sure, so the tension was always there.
That’s part of what had me bringing this series. I really wanted to know if the people I was shipping ended up together and who the characters would choose and who they would reject. I honestly didn’t really care too much about the scenes where they were trying to get to know each other and spending one-on-one time, that’s probably just a me-thing, though. People who are interested in deep conversations and quality time will really enjoy all of those scenes.
I also loved the group of people who were like the “viewers”, watching the show with us and commenting on different scenes. They also were discussing the relationships and shipping people so I found that very enjoyable as well.
I wish they had more activities and events throughout the show that kept things interesting because the characters' interactions were nice, and I know the whole point is for them to get to know each other, but to the viewers it can get quite boring. I also don’t believe 9 days was enough time for them to get to know each other more than just friends so most of the couples that came out of this show seemed like they wouldn’t last a week.
Overall, it’s fun to try to guess who might end up together and seeing the ups and downs in the relationships between the different characters but I skipped a lot of the scenes in each episode just because I honestly couldn’t care any less.
REST OF THE REVIEW HAS SOME FORM OF SPOILERS
Just a friendly reminder, these are simply my OPINIONS
My favorite female character overall: An Yea-Won
I loved her bright personality and the way she laughs. She looked so pretty when she laughed and smiled.
My favorite male character overall: Choi Si-Hun
Ifelt empathy for him, the poor guy was stupid in love with Jin-a.
My favorite couple overall: Oh Jin-Taek and Kang So-Yeon
Ummm hello, they were the most stable and mature couple out of all the rest. The way they communicated with each other so clearly was amazing.
2nd favorite couple overall: Kim Jun-Sik and An Yea-Won
They were meant for each other with the way they both were like rays of sunshine but still a bit shy and awkward at times but in a cute way.
My favorite “almost was” couple: Choi Si-Hun and Kim Su-Min
They would’ve made for the sweetest couples, they both seemed to get along nicely too. If only Si-Hun got over Ji-a so he could see Su-Min.
The most good looking girl: Song Ji-a
Cmon, she had three guys after her, if that’s not enough evidence what is? And I have to admit she was the most attractive looking girl out of everyone. I expected her to be very egoistic and stuck up because of her looks, but she was honestly sweet and not rude or anything like that which was a pleasant surprise.
The most good looking guy: Choi Si-Hun
This is probably a very controversial opinion of mine, but once again: it’s just my opinion. He was giving K-pop boy group/kdrama main lead vibes and was simply super cute. (Cha Hyun-Seung would be runner up for this category).
The guy I have the most respect for: Moon Se-Hoon
His loyalty was out of this world, the way he never gave up on Shin Ji-Yeon was amazing. And, hey, it worked out in the end for him. I was so happy for him!
The girl with the best personality: Kim Su-Min
She’s so sweet and cute and kind. She deserved to find love but it honestly sucks how she came in late, it put her at such a disadvantage. Like, yeah, things were more interesting because of the new additions but they were all at such disadvantages.
The guy with the best personality: Kim Jun-Sik
He was always positive and happy, he never got too mad and seemed quite level-headed. He was also so cute.
The girl I disliked the most: Seong Min-Ji
I just didn’t get the best vibes from her.
The guy I disliked the most: Cha Hyun-Seung
I just don’t support choosing love over friendship. When he said that, it was an instant ick for me.
The best girl friendship: Kang So-Yeon and An Yea-Won
I loved how they seemed so close and comfortable with each other even though they haven’t known each other for too long. They would talk to each other properly and listen to each other and give advice. It was so sweet.
The best guy friendship: Moon Se-Hoon and Kim Hyeon-Joong
I liked how they talked to each other too about their thoughts and discussed things properly. I loved seeing Hyeon-Joong so excited when Se-Hoon could finally go to Paradise, especially with Ji-Yeon. Everyone was so happy for Se-Hoon, including me lol. I was so excited too, I literally jumped up in the air when she chose him to go to Paradise with him.
