Kdrama Review: Single’s Inferno 4

WOW this season was a rollercoaster of emotions and honestly quite suspenseful. This season was so entertaining and fun and the characters were so different from past seasons. This season exceeded my expectations and my favorite season so far.

Synopsis:

A bunch of single people are stranded on an island with not the most comfortable living conditions. The only way they can go to “Paradise”, which is a very luxurious hotel, is if they go together as a couple. 

Review:

I’m going to stay vague as I discuss in order to not spoil anything by accident.

The lineup for the singles this season was quite different than in the past, but definitely way more entertaining as well. Not only were every single one of these girls so stunning, they all had very bold personalities. They were sneaky, sly, and majorly competitive. They worked hard till the very end to pursue those that interested them. They were all so straightforward and did not care about their fellow competitors' feelings. All the men weren’t as exciting, but there were a couple that definitely spiced things up. Those few were quite expressive in their own ways whether it's through subtle gestures or bold moves and words. 

This season is definitely more exciting as the suspense was insane due to the indecisiveness of the “main character” of the show, Si-an. She was collecting men like pokemon and kept everyone on their toes till the final episode. Along with that, the girls were aggressive and bold in general due to the overlap in men they liked. There were 2-3 men that majority of the girls were after, leaving the others to just be. Though, eventually most of them found their match. 

I enjoyed the games this season, I just wish there were more!! There were a couple of new good ones which were so much fun, and a couple of the ones. The girls platform wrestling (not literally lol) one was definitely my favorite but the boys games were kind of lacking in my opinion. I felt like the girls competed more this season. Also, it felt like to me they were going to paradise way more often than characters did in previous seasons, but maybe that was just because of the way they filmed it and maybe they gave more screen time or focus to the time in Paradise.

Also the twists that came with this season were crazy! So many different things happened which added to the excitement and pace of the plot. Also I was so much more invested in the couples that went to Paradise as Paradise was so much more interesting and captivating as compared to previous seasons. 

I do love the time characters spend in Inferno together, but this time around I felt like there was less focus on Inferno which was a bit of a shame but it’s okay. Also the female game changer that came definitely made things much more interesting for an episode or two.

I also want to give the panelists a bit of appreciation; they were so invested and entertaining. I would especially look forward to their reactions and opinions, love them all so much!

My favorite female character overall: Minseol

She had confidence, flair, and was so darn cute and genuine. She couldn’t help the smile and joy from showing on her face and was just the cutest.

My favorite male character overall: Taeoh

He deserves everything. Never have I ever seen a more genuine man. The way he wasn’t scared to express his feelings and respected Sian’s decision and continued to love her after being rejected. 

My favorite couple overall: Arin and Dongho

These two were adorable, just the cutest couple and they definitely felt like they were meant for each other. Dongho was so loyal, so cute.

My favorite “almost was” couple: Sian and Jeongsu

Jeonsu was exactly the type of guy Sian wanted but still decided to go with Junseo ughhhhh

The most good looking girl: Sian or Arin

Gotte give it to Sian, she is so pretty for sure. She has this angelic look and her facial expressions were spot on, wow. Arin had this doll-like beauty which also always caught my eye.  

The most good looking guy: Tehwan

Though his personality was a bit, ehhh, his looks definitely stood out to me.

The girl with the best personality: Youjin and Hyejin

Both of them are so different, but I loved them both. Youjin is so bubbly and sweet, and her smile omg stunning. I can’t believe none of the guys were interested in her, such a shame she’s like a ray of sunshine and fun as well. Hyejin was so witty and always said the funniest things in the moment, wanted to give her a moment of appreciation. 

The guy with the best personality: Taeoh

No explanation needed.

The girl I disliked the most: Haelin

Everything about her gave me the ick, but I don’t blame her necessarily as it could’ve been like her whole purpose in the show was to shake things up. Though the way she acted with the girls on her first day had me pissed for them, it was funny and added spice to the episode though so she did fulfill her goal as the game changer.

The guy I disliked the most: Tehwan

His intro? Like why was he so self absorbed 😭. He was so quiet throughout the show which helped me ease up to him but his time with Jiyeon showed those traits again.
